  2. You need 1 of boiled potato and smashed.

  6. Prepare 1 tsp of green chilli paste.
  7. It's 1 tbsp of jeera powder.
  8. It's 1 tsp of dhaniya powder.

  10. Prepare 1 tsp of haldi powder.
  11. You need As required of Bread crumbs.
  12. It's to taste of Salt according.
  13. You need As required of Chopped coriander leaves optional.
  14. You need 1 tsp of Chat masala optional.
  15. Prepare As required of Mustard oil for frying.

My Thakuma (grandmother) used to say that 'Macher Chop' is best made with 'Aar Maach'. But since no body in our family likes 'Aar Maach', 'Macher Chop' is always made. Fish chop with a hot cup of ginger tea is one of the favorite snacks or starters for Eastern parts of India on rainy day or winter evenings. Fish Chop step by step

  1. In a kadai heat little oil and fry chopped onion until it becomes golden brown then add boiled fish and fry for few minutes now add haldi powder and salt..
  2. After few minutes add ginger garlic paste and chilli paste and mix it well..
  3. When masala will change it's colour then add smashed potato and one by one add jeera and dhaniya powder. Mix it well and add chopped coriander leaves and garam masala powder and stir for few more minutes..
  4. When the mixture will become like a dough take it in a bowl and let it cool down..
  5. Make small balls out of the mixture and give shape according to own choice..
  6. In a plate coat each chop with bread crumbs properly. Keep it aside for few minutes..
  7. Now heat kadai and add suffecient oil for frying. Fry each chop with care so that it doesn't break..
  8. After frying sprinkle chat masala on top and serve it with kasundi and sauce or some chutney..
